Hi,
I am new to the computer.

I have a Dell Optiplex 760 SFF Desktop Computer with
windows 7/ 4GB/ 1 terabyte.
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz

I want to know how to find my motherboard in the Dell Optiplex 760 SFF since everything in there is cramped up.

Also i want to upgrade my graphics card from the integrated graphic. Would my motherboard be compatible with the GeForce 8800 GT.

PLEASE help me because i am new to this stuff. If for some reason i have to find something up in process can you guide me through.

download CPU-Z tells you everything.

you can run DXDIAG from the start menu to see your current graphics card. in an optiplex machine though, I doubt an 8800 would fit in there.

EDIT: Unless it's the big tower, in which case it'll probably fit, but it'll run very hot since those machines have terrible cooling.

Dell Optiplex PC's are usually computers made for business use. You can find out with CPU-Z what kind of components are inside (like deadmaufive said). Try looking for information about the motherboard and post it here, so we can help you further. It is probably an Intel Q43 express chipset, like most of the Dell Optiplex computers. Side question: do you intend to play games with this system?

That card should fit, however, even with that card, don't expect to play on High settings. Your processor is pretty slow and it's not exactly a top end card. also, it requires a 6pin, if i'm not mistaken, so make sure your PSU has that and if not, get a molex to 6pin adapter. Also, make sure your psu is around 450w or there about.

sorry as i said i don't know much about the computer so i want to know

a)how do you check the PSU for 450w?
b) are you still talking about GeForce 8800GT when you referred to "that card"?

Thanks

a) open the case and look at the specs on it. It should say all the details on the side of the PSU itself.

b) Yes, I was still referring to the 8800GT

Does the brand matters in buying Geforce 8800 GTS like

XFX,

BFG, or

ZOTAC (ZT-88SES2P-FSP GeForce 8800GTS 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCIE Video Card) which i am thinking of buying.

It's a personal preference on brand. Some brands have core clocks a little faster than others, but it's so little you won't see much, if any, of a difference.
