I have the gtx 570 right now , im quite happy with it but when i tried crysis 3 and BF 4 with highest settings , game was lagging a bit.

Is it really worth upgrading graphics card now ? And what are the top graphics cards right now ?

Cheers !

Im pretty sure the 780 will be out of my price range. Max budget is 400 euros or a little bit more. What do you recommend ?

right now i hold off as the top card from amd the 290/290x has heat issues and noise.

play the you tube video you see how loud there stock fan is right now. great product but they dropped the ball that most users are going to wait for the aftermarket cards.
on nvidia side there going to be droping there next cards soon.
there leak roadmap says sometime in the first two quarters of next year.

I have the 7970 and it's a great card, the 280x is the same card just renamed with a higher clock and cheaper price, so depending on what the prices are where you are at get the one that is cheaper. The GTX 770 is nvidias option at roughly the same price point. I would look at benchmarks and prices for AMD and nvidia and choose which one works best for you, either way should give you great performance.

Why are there cards with same core clock and yet their price is different ?
Why is a 770 cheaper than a 670?

770 is newer and still in production thus it is more available. The price difference is based on the brand and the aftermarket coolers provided.
