Is it really worth upgrading graphics card now ? And what are the top graphics cards right now ?

Cheers !

The fastest card for gaming would be the 780ti, but it's pricey. Followed by the 290x, 290, 780... If your using the typical single monitor 1080p you might want to check out the GTX 770 or AMD 7970/280x.

Im pretty sure the 780 will be out of my price range. Max budget is 400 euros or a little bit more. What do you recommend ?

I have the 7970 and it's a great card, the 280x is the same card just renamed with a higher clock and cheaper price, so depending on what the prices are where you are at get the one that is cheaper. The GTX 770 is nvidias option at roughly the same price point. I would look at benchmarks and prices for AMD and nvidia and choose which one works best for you, either way should give you great performance.

Why are there cards with same core clock and yet their price is different ?
Why is a 770 cheaper than a 670?

770 is newer and still in production thus it is more available. The price difference is based on the brand and the aftermarket coolers provided.
