If you look carefully as you try to get it in, you should be able to see what the card is getting snagged on... it could be a cable plugged into a motherboard connector, a motherboard heatsink getting in the way of the GPU's, a cable running across the slot that you didn't notice, etc.

They are a universal size. I've had to bend the bottom of the metal piece that where all the connectors are on the card, to allow it to slide beside the motherboard. sometimes they get caught on the motherboard itself, and you don't want to force it or you could damage the motherboard.

OP's problem (at least from the way he worded it) is that he cannot physically seat his card in his slot, which would indicate a mechanical clearance issue with something... drive cages, heatsinks on the motherboard, motherboard installed too close to the rear panel so the GPU's bracket metal tabs get wedged between the motherboard and case or something else of that sort.

But OP's problem description is too generic to make more specific recommendations than just paying more attention to what might be getting in the way.
