Hey everyone, I was wondering if using a mechanical keyboard for my YouTube gaming videos, and I'm worried that it will make a racket in the videos and that's the last thing I want. Could someone please tell me. Thank You.

Options:
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate
Corsair K95
Ducky ii
Razer Deathstalker-not mechanical

Depends on the kind of keys you get. The Razer keyboard I've used in the past used Cherry MX blues, and was loud enough to wake up the neighbors.

I currently use a Corsair K70 with Cherry MX reds and they're fantastic, and they're a lot quieter.

cherry mx blues arent loud. if you want loud listen to buckling spring switches.

if you are worried then you have two options...

install some rubber o rings under the keys (i believe wasdkeyboards sells just the rings)

adjust the sensitivity of your mic in windows to cut out most of the typing sound

well... the third option being to use a different keyboard but thats not really what you were asking right?

Well my options are a ducky, Razer blackwidow or corsair k95 keyboard-or whatever you guys suggest. If I was not going to get one of these then I would go for the Razer deathstalker Chiclet keys-Not the Ultimate .

Also just out of curiosity, which cherry mx is the quietest? From my research I heard it's red...

click the sound comparision video

it even shows you how they act with o rings installed.

reds and blacks suck to type on. its like typing on springs. good for gaming perhaps but not ideal for typing. blues are the best for typing, browns are second best and a bit quieter.

i have no idea why people think blues are all that loud... my cheap membrane keyboard that i'm using temporarily is almost as loud as the mx blue keyboard i had. the only difference is that the mx blue clicked while the keyboard i have now makes a whole myriad of noises. its a cheap $5 keyboard so thats expected.

the quietest keyboard you can buy is likely half-height key logitech quiet touch or soft touch keyboards. the quietest mechanical made for typing is likely cherry browns with o rings.

Frankieonpcin1080p uses the corsair k70 and I'm not sure if you know but he has a million plus subscribers on youtube so it or the k95 will be good. That's the one I'm going to get the k95 because it's a super sexy keyboard lol.

I know right, k95 is hardcore but if it makes noise in my videos then I'm gone
