I'm doing some troubleshooting and was wondering what are some signs of a bad cpu.
Rechecking the culprit of making my computer to not work. It was either cpu or motherboard.

Solution
Bad CPUs are really hard to diagnose for two reasons. One being that CPUs almost never fail unless they've been abused (OC without proper cooling for instance). Their symptoms are very non-specific and generally behave the same as a bad motherboard. The motherboard is probably 100x more likely to fail than the CPU. I found an old loose Core2Duo in a box a few months ago that I hadn't used in years. I popped it into an LGA 775 motherboard and it fired right up with no issues. If you're having to guess between the CPU and the motherboard, the motherboard is always the safest bet. The only way to know for sure is to put the CPU on another motherboard and see if it does the same things.
IF you have another CPU to swap in or if you can swap the CPU into another motherboard thats usually the easier way to tell. A lot of motherboards have Diagnostic lights or sounds that will tell you whats up from No video card to Bad CPU. What kind of CPU, Motherboard, and name brand PC is it if it is a named brand PC

unfortunately i do not have another cpu. But i can tell you my specs.
Cpu is a AMD Phenom II x6 1090t
motherboard is a M4A89GTD usb3/pro (old)

i've recently swapped it to a new motherboard(forgot the model but it is a gigabyte mobo) and this arrived couple days ago and i got power for a good 10 seconds and even got display and a beep. Then it stuck its middle finger at me and powered off and never powered up again.

luckily i sent it back for an RMA. Which wont come till maybe little after thanksgiving.

I've had my cpu water cooled from to 30 - 35 C. Overclocked to 3.8 ghz( cpu is an AMD Phenom II x6 1090t). Overclock wasnt much but my psu was really bad. Got it to maybe 1.45v just on 3.8 ghz.

Yea if it turned off and not back on again then probably bad motherboard. The overclock should be fine on that CPU. A few things though is that 1) a PC not turning on at all could be either CPU or Motherboard. If the CPU is fried like dead dead the motherboard won't start up either. Its the same as not having a CPU, which unless you have some of the newer motherboards that will startup UP with out a cpu (So you do BIOS updates and have NOTHING but power plugged in) or 2) Something could be with the PSU. Sometimes when that stuff happens, 1) Unplug power cord from PSU. Hold power button for 30 seconds. Then unplug the 4/8 pin 12V and the 20/24 pin Main connector and let it set for like 30 minutes. Then plug it all back in and test it out. If still no go then yea i would guess motherboard first. ESPECIALLY since the CPU worked in in the old motherboard. Do you still have that? If you do I'd try it out in there. Even with no Ram or anything if it turns on and beeps at you then at least you for something.

The reason why i switch motherboard was because of my old board. I've recently upgraded my power supply and graphic card. After implementing them, i got no post ,no beep, just power. It just proves my new power supply is good and not defective. I've done trouble shooting with my old power supply to double check my power supply is not at fault.
