3770k sabertooth z77

Solution
The Sabertooth is easy to overclock with, I've achieved an OC of 4.7Ghz with my 3770K and Sabertooth Z77.
You will need a good aftermarket cooler , or a water cooling solution which will allow you to push the overclock to a good level.
When you adjust the clocks higher , windows will not change the 3.5 GHZ value in the system information. Overclocking to 4Ghz is a minimal overclock as the Turbo mode hits 3.9ghz as others have already mentioned.
You will need software like cpu-z or even the utility software that came with your mobo, ASUS ai suite which also allows you to overclock and monitor your system and do some Digi power tweaks whilst you are in windows.

I would
In BIOS:

-Set BCLK=100
-Set Core Ratio Limit=40
-Disable EPU
-Disable PLL overvolt (for saftey)

Run and see what voltage the board automatically applies. Then In Bios:

-apply negative offset so that the full load voltage is at the average stable voltage for that frequency (for 4GHz 1.07v might be reasonable). If:

-unstable, apply LLC of 25% (medium for ASUS) and lower neg offset until stable

-stable, increase neg offset until instability occurs.

You should not have to exceed 1.12v for this, and never exceed 1.35v

Like Supahos already said that's kinda low for even venturing into overclocking your 3770K?

Are you limited by stock cooling?

IMO for any overclocking you need an after market cooling solution better than the stock cooling?

The stock cooling was not designed for overclocking.

I have the same CPU as you and the same Motherboard as well, that's what attracted me to your thread.

But I have an extremely good cooling solution that allows me to run the 24/7 overclock my CPU-Z validation shows, just so you can see what can be done with a 3770K.

I am not recommending my cooling solution so don't misunderstand my meaning, but I am recommending either a good after market, air or water cooling solution.

If you really don't want to go past 4.0ghz, I fail to see why you would want to overclock in the first place?

I'm new to oc'ing, so I wasn't sure if 4.0 was high or complete crap. Also, my mobo says my cpu is at 3.5ghz. is there an option I can reach 3.9 because I have done nothing to the cpu and it says 3.5

it automatically "turbo boosts" itself when it needs to, download a program called CPU-Z, keep it on top and open a game or other decent sized program and it will pop up to 3900 (give or take 10) mhz.

If you're going to actually bother Overclocking I would go for a minimum of 4.3 mhz, probably closer to 4.5 (this all assumes you have a GOOD aftermarket cooler) Lots of people can give you good advice if this is the case, but I'm not going to suggest anything until I know if you have the cooling not to burn down your chip.
