So I was looking around at video cards at the 200$ price range and came across the R9 270x and the 7870 as possible upgrades to my 7770. I really dont see a difference between these two cards:

The only difference is maybe a few software updates for the R9 and the company making the cards, and also the price.

I know AMD did some rebadgeing but I assume the 7870 isn't much different from the 270x and is probably the better deal here?

I'd go with the cheaper option, they're essentially the same cards, it's just that the 270x is a slightly overclocked 7870

ya, just go with the 7870, you could overclock it to 270X levels

Alright, I had figured there wasn't much difference.
