So I'm looking to build a gaming PC, but I want to build one that won't go out of date for a while.

Here's the current specs that I put together: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/24vAF

What I really want to know is if there is anything that I should upgrade and if there are any components that I don't really need and should go with a cheaper alternative.

Thanks!

Looks fine as high end build. Maybe add a 120-128GB SSD for OS and programs.

Get a 4770k not just a 4770 otherwise get rid of the watercooler. Rest of it is complete top notch, might as well spring for the unlocked processor

If you want to overclock, you'll want a 4770K, since it has an unlocked multiplier. Otherwise, get a cheaper cpu cooler and a B85 or H87 motherboard (since you don't seem to be running sli/cf either).

@rolli59 the OP's build already has a 128GB SSD.

If it's a gaming Pc, no reason to purchase the 4770k. Stick with the 4670k. Also, stick with 8gb's of Ram as well.

Saved money where I could, and spent more on the SSD and Psu(in case you ever want to SLI that video card).

Faster 780ti for less money. Great quality Psu with plenty of wattage for two 780ti's and overclocking. Less expensive motherboard from a trusted brand with some really nice features as well. Saved some money on the 2tb HDD too, and upped the build to a 250gb SSD. Went with the Evo over the Pro for savings with neglible performance loss.
