Main Objective : 1440p gaming (BF4, Metro, etc)

Should I go with the 780ti (superclocked ACX version) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

or would a 780 classified be enough.

I also have a 4770k running @ 4.6 and a Qnix overclocked @ 110.

Any help would be appreciated .. (this is my first build)

The 780ti is by far the best single GPU card out there, and will do very well at 1440p with those games.

The 780, less so. But it will net you about 40 FPS at that resolution on Ultra, where the 780ti you can expect around 50 FPS. So there is a difference for sure. But it's up to you whether or not the price is worth it.

Budget permitting, get the 780 ti.

The answer to your question depends on how you define "enough."

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-780-ti-...

The 780ti doesn't even push 50 FPS average in BF4 at 1440p. For me, that isn't enough. If you want over 60 FPS on BF4 at 1440p you are going to need 2 cards. Otherwise you need to stick with 1080p. If you want to go the 2 card route, the best bet would be:

2 7970 (AMD) = about 600
2 7970 ghz (AMD) = about 700
1 7990 (AMD) = 700ish
2 R9 280x (AMD) = about 600
2 GTX 770 (Nvidia) = about 650

Any of those sets of cards will give you better performance than the 780ti for less money than the $740 you are interested in already. Other than the 7990, the rest of them would require the space to fit and cool 2x double slot cards. I would suggest the 690 but it is... Elusive..

You could also go with 2 R9 290 for 800 though I would wait until they release versions with after market cooling.

Bottom line is that if you want 1440p, you are going to have to crossfire or SLI something because the 780ti / Titan / R9 290x can't handle it.

I have 2 7970ghz for my 1440p setup :)
