hello,
if i format a hdd with windows 7, on 1 pc with no settings regarding m/b and related stuff, then if i just take the drive and put it in another pc,will the pc be ok, will i have a working formatted drive?

Solution
Double click on computer icon. Right click on the drive and select format.
If this is the only hard drive in that computer then you won't be able to. That is when you do what you said in the first post, put it in your computer and format it there. But if that is the case, you will be left without an operating system when you put it back in the other computer as a formatted drive is of course blank.

You don't need a CD or even a working CD Drive to format a hard drive so I guess I'm just confused why you need to do this in another machine. That is why I am asking what exactly you are trying to do. There is clearly something left out of your question, and as a result, the answer you get may not give you the results you're looking for.
