How to connect Multiple Monitors located at remote locations to a single PC?

I am currently working on a project which requires a data to be displayed to 5 different screens each located in different locations.

However the project cost refuses me to buy 5 different PCs and have remote connectivity between them.

What i need is a method to connect 5 different screens to one single PC.

Is there any way to do the job?

You are now in the area of yes you could do it without a pc but would you rather spend $100,000 to do it or would you be better off just buying the PCs for each site.

You might be able to use a web capable tv as a monitor but that is just being silly and trying to claim you aren't using a PC just because you can't see it and it is built into the TV.

The best solution is going to be to do this the same way video conferencing systems do this. If you have a large feed you do not want to send 5 copies over the 4km link. You build a VPN tunnel between the sites and then use multicast to transmit the video. The end switches will then replicate the data to each device that wants it. Even though it is not use much on the internet...

What do you mean by locations?.

There are methods to carry HDMI signals over physical ethernet cables and others that can at some limited capacity carry HDMI over a switched ethernet network.

The key problem is the bandwidth required to carry raw monitor output is very high. If you can run ethernet cable between the locations then you might be able to get it to work. If you are talking about locations that are far away it is going to be much cheaper to get a device (ie a pc) to replicate the screen using less data intensive such as remote desktop. Even with remote desktop you will still need considerable bandwidth of you expect a smooth screen display.

There are also video conferencing systems that can accomplish this because they compress the data from the PC but these systems are extremely expensive.

You are very vague on what you are trying to do.
1) Are these locations in the same building?
2) Is the data to be displayedat all 5 locations the same data?
3) If in the same building how far apart are they?

There is always a way to do just about anything...the problem can be the price not the technology.

The 5 different locations are in the same building but the building will be around 4 KM away from the main PC. The data to be displayed in all 5 screens is same. It is basically a project on online health monitoring of electrical parameters. So the data will be in a web based HMI to be screened into my main office. However the display should be 24 hours hence a dedicated screen is to be employed for the same.

Even though it is not use much on the internet multicast is supported by many of the video players. VLC has both the encoder and the player and is free but you also use microsoft media player and the adobe flash can do it also but I think you need to pay for the encoder.

The other way is to send a single feed across the link to another pc and then have all the machine connect to that machine to get it since bandwidth is not as much a issue on a lan. This is a unicast solution and is the more common one people on the internet use but it is much more bandwidth intensive than multicast.
