I'm using HD 7870 XT, played BF3 at max settings with 17 inch monitor @ 1366x768 and the temp. came up to 68c.
my question is..if i used a 23 inch monitor and played the same game @ max settings but @ 1080p ..is the temp. will go higher than 68c?
in other way..is the temp. of the card related to the settings of the game or to the resolution I'm playing at too??
and how much the temp will go higher than 68c when playing at 1080p?

Solution
It is related to the load you put on the card. 1080P will let it work harder on the same settings so it will have higher thermal output, then we have to look at the cooling fan which is programmed to increase speed as thermals go up so it will get hotter but it will get more cooling as well. Hard to say what temp it will end at but I would not worry until it goes past 80°C since max temp for the card is mid to high 90's.

thank you, unfortunately fanspeed goes to 47% when the temp is 68c , and it's kindda noisy ..i don't want to pass the 50% of fan speed ..so i don't know.. will it goes to 75+ when playing at 1080p instead of 68 :(
