Hi Everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my computer of 5 years. it is currently running windows vista 32bit from a Intel core 2 duo CPU on a Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR with 4g of ram 1gb graphics card, 500gb seagate baracuda 430W thermaltake power source with a dvd drive.

Currently most of realtake drivers are coming up with out of date, i am unable to install CAD programs and i am sick of vista.

Firstly i would like to know if i should settle with a i5 or i7 4th gen quad core CPU
There is about $100 between them and i would like to know in both respects to performance and will one become obsolete sooner than the other in 4-6 years time.

because of this cpu upgrade i will have to get a motherboard, and with the new gen being 1150 pin i imagine i will need to get a 1150 motherboard- looking at a $100 gigabyte option.

Secondly will i have to upgrade my power source.

any information would be great.
