driver for mass storage controller

Could anybody help please? I installed windows 7 64 bit but cannot find the drivers for the mass storage controller. For some reason the Dell doesn't seem to think my Inspiron 531 with AMD 5000 chips will run seven or 64 bit but I can assure you it does.

The reason you can't find a driver for it is because there is no 64 bit driver for it. That may be why Dell suggested you not upgrade to 64 bit Windows 7.

Thank you, didn't know that. Will it work on 32 bit? I have the 32 and 64 bit disks.

There is a 32 bit windows vista driver that may work, but I don't know for sure. Dell has it on their website.
