I have an old HDD with windows 7 and 500 gigs of programs, games, and other data.
I installed a new SSD and put windows 8.1 on it.
Now my questions is how do I get my games to run properly now that the HDD they were installed on is no longer the C drive. I dont want all of my programs to launch from the SSD.

Solution
All the registry info, and other files they need that might not be in the game folder it self aren't there or it doesn't know its there. You WILL need to reinstall all of them. Just when you install them change the Drive letter to the Letter of what the HDD is now.

You are going to need to reinstall them one at time for the most part. Most games can't just run from a secondary drive, however, you can install them to the secondary drive so that the data goes there instead of on the SSD.

It seems to be a fad now to only keep only Windows on the SSD, C:
Even I tried this for a while...

Now I have all programs on C: And it's good. Unless you have so many games you need a 1TB SSD and don't want to make that expensive purchase.

Agh okay.. I was dreaming that there might be a solution similar to how RAMdisks work. Thank you for the quick and informative answer!
