Hi, i've picked out all the parts to build a pc and am wanting to get this license
key for windows 7 as it's much cheaper than getting it on a disc. But there's 2 things i'm not sure on:
is it 32bit or 64bit?
will I be able to use it on a new PC with no previous OS or will i have to get one on a disc?

It's probably just a bunch of letters and numbers. So you will still need the actual installation disc to install Windows 7, but you can apply that key when Windows prompts for it. Just make sure your versions match otherwise the key will not be compatible.

If you are going to be installing more than 3GB of Ram then you can go with 64bit, if you are installing lower than 3GB Ram then I would still suggest that you get 64bit in case you want to upgrade at a later stage (32bit is just for systems that have lower than 3GB worth of ram installed)

Since you are building the PC then you will need to get a retail disk in order to actually install the operating system since the key will be entered when installing the operating system from the disk provided

You can just download the Windows disk image for the version of the key that you buy from HERE and either burn it to a DVD or make a USB installer with THIS TOOL.

For a new build, I would use 64 bit to be able to use more than 4GB, and use all 4GB if you only have that much.

At least one purchaser of that item commented that they installed x64, but had to do a telephone activation. There is really no specific description there.
