I have a 34a on the 12v rail PSU, does it mean i have 12v x 34a =408W on 12v rail?

according to extreme power supply calcultor my hole system consumes about 300W
my 7870 consumes about 170W
and my cpu 95W

corsair VS450
its said to have one single 30a 12v rail on older models and 34a on newer models like mine, instead of the 2x 17a rails other psus have

yes that is correct.
It is given in the psu sticker separately as well, that how much watts the PSU can deliver on the +12V rail.

my system uses only 300W thats for sure, ive calculated all the componets max Wattage

amd list 7750 card with 400W minimum PSU
ive used it on a 200W psu or 18 months since i knew it was using only 180W max and it was perfect

but i got worried a bit over 40a 12v rails requirement and needed to confirm volts x amps math

What is the brand and model of your Radeon HD 7870?

There are two types of HD 7870 cards each using different GPU architecture. The Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition uses a Tahiti LE GPU. The Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition uses a Pitcairn XT GPU.

The Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition draws a lot more power.

FYI the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite from eXtreme Outer Vision uses 115 Watts for the AMD Radeon HD 7870. That is the peak power consumption during gaming for an AMD Reference Design Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition card.

The Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition draws at least 60 Watts more.
