Hey guys,

I built my PC and it seems to be powering on just fine now (got a new PSU) but I've encountered another problem! I get a beep code, 1 long beep 3 short beeps. I read the manual and this means no VGA has been detected. I tried reseating the graphics card and even put it into the other PCI-e slot on my mobo. Nothing works :(
I've done all the obvious things such as making sure power cables are connected and pushing the card in all the way. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Is the graphics card faulty or do I just need to do something to the mobo? I read something about flashing BIOS or resetting CMOS battery but I have no clue what this involves or if it is needed.

Specs of PC:
AMD FX-6300
ASUS M5A97 Motherboard
XFX Radeon HD 7870
Crucial Ballistix RAM (2x4GB)
Corsair CX600M

Thank you, hope you can help me out :)

Hi 1903 is the version I think.
I don't have another graphics card and testing this card on another PC is not practical :/

Also I don't know if this means anything but when the graphics card was plugged in, it's fans were spinning. Seems weird, could this mean the motherboard is at fault?

Is the motherboard M5A97 R2.0?
If yes, then you can try upgrading the BIOS (using the flashback).
But before that, I would make sure that the graphics card does work. Try testing it at a local shop or in a friend's PC.
You can also try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cable and remove the CMOS battery for few minutes, or use the CLR CMOS jumper) and testing the board outside the case for ruling out a short.

I am going to try and see if a local PC repair shop can test the graphics card later this week. Do you mind if I message you after I've done this, just in case I need some extra advice?

Oh and it is the LE R2.0 yes. I tried doing the jumper thing but it did not work. Will try the battery thing later.

Thank you
