I'm using an HP pavilion dv6, it was full of malware when I got it. I removed all the issues in safe mode using MBAM and SS&D, however when I booted back into the desktop I was unable to access the internet through wifi or lan. I've tried netsh winsock reset, configuring a static IP, changing the DNS server, restoring to before the virus removal, pretty much all the common problems but still no luck. Help please?

check your router as u said u use static ip that ip may be blocked from router check mac filter and bandwidth control.
What ended up working for me was using the Technitium MAC Address changer (http://www.technitium.com/tmac/). I scrambled the mac addresses for both ethernet and wifi twice, restarting the pc after the first one, and that ultimately fixed it. It's been a couple months and I haven't had any recurring issues. I don't know if the restart was necessary, but after the first scramble it didn't work immediately, so just play around with it.
