4-5 days ago my PC stopped working. It gave a video card/ram error (one long three short) on boot and i was sure it was the video card because it was running steadily at 70+ degrees for about two months.I didn't care because it was a really old card anyway and i needed an upgrade,so i thought it got fried and purchased an ATI r9 280x along with some thermal paste and compressed air.I cleaned my PC with both vacum(on metal parts) and comp air (sensitive parts) and applied the paste to my CPU(might have over done it,little spill on the sides) without taking it out.I also installed the new card (two 8pins powering it,changed PCIE 16 slot),but when i started it up nothing happened,CPU LED was constantly red.I tried switching up RAMS and now the CPU error was no more, instead it was the RAM led witch lit up and gave the error one long two short beeps.I switched them up more and when i finally move my two 4gb ddr3 corsair dominator rams to B1 and B2 i got past the RAM error. Now it's the VGA led lighting up,followed by one long, three short and after 5 secs two short beeps.I'm completely lost, but begging to think it's actually my mobo at fault.I tried switching PCIE slots(tried all 3) and unpluging and pluging back the 8 pins but nothing is working. The GPU is brand new.If anyone has any ideas, quick help would be really appreciated as i'm getting really frustrated. My parts are:ASUS p7p55d-pro mobo, intel i7 CPU,Sapphire ATI r9 280 x GPU,Corsair HX750W PSU,2xCorsair Dominator 2GB DDR3 Ram.

I tried every combination of number of sticks/different ram slots and although it does change what led lights up it doesn't get the PC to boot.1 stick,A2=CPU led red,2 sticks A2 B1=DDRAM led red,2 sticks A2 B2=no errors, all leds blink once with red light (normal boot i think),boot sound(1 beep) but after the boot led shuts off there are two rapid short beeps and no display.Could this really be the RAM's or is it my mobo, hence all the different seemingly senseless errors?
