UK Laptop--US Power Cord?

I have a UK-issued Acer laptop from my old UK company and I live in the US. I don't want to have to carry around a wall/plug adaptor; is it possible to change out the power cord to a US connection?

You need to check on the adaptor that it will support 120 volt and most adaptors will.
If the adaptor has a removable power lead then this could be changed for an american one or you could cut off the UK plug and wire on an American plug.
