Hello, I'm new to the forum. I've been reading many reviews of the R9 290 (Non x) and I have a quick couple of questions for any GPU experts out there:
1) When are third party cards going to be availiable? (if they already are, can someone link me to a site with them?)

2) Every review I've read capitalized on 2 points: The reference cards GREATLY out performed the retail cards, and The retail card had bad overheating issues under a heavy load for a short time. Does this mean that I can expect a third party card to perform closer to that of the reference cards without any overheating problems?
And: How bad exactly is the overheating problem? Am I going to need a cooler for it to run STOCK and not have it burn out after a year? (I have 5 fans that circulate airflow in my case, It's constantly blowing out really cold air)

3) I currently have a Phenom II 955 BE, and a GTX 560. If I OCed my Phenom II to around 4-4.2 GHZ, would getting a R9 290 be worth it, or should I wait until AFTER I pick up my 4'th gen I5 4570 or 4670K, and would the standard 4570 bottleneck this card?

More about : additional info 290

And does anyone have any idea when the 3'rd party cards will be out?

Non-reference cards will be available at the end of November.
The card runs at 95° and it's VERY noisy. Non-reference cards can be overclocked, so yes, you can get better performance without any overheating problems.
It was DESIGNED to run at 95°, I don't think it overheated, though..
I would wait till you get your 4670k, and also, the R9 290 outperforms the 290x once overclocked.
No, the 4570 won't bottleneck the 290 but I would suggest you get the 4670k and the 4770k as an upgrade. With the 4670k you can overclock, although I'm not sure if your current cooler supports it...If that were the case you could just snap on a 212 Evo for dirt cheap.

For next gen gaming I would go with the AMD FX 8350 or the 4670k.
