Recently i have been wanting to lower my mouse's DPI but when i go to the Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse center it says no mouse detected and i have no idea why. I use this mouse http:// (Specifically the LMT3600BLK) and it says scalable DPI. But i dont know why it doesnt detect it. Is there anyway to fix this or use a third party software to adjust my mouses DPI?

So you can't adjust the speed of the pointer through
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Mouse > Pointer Options ?

Sorry if I'm being dense haha :p

It's just my understanding that the goal of adjusting DPI would be to change sensitivity. Would lowering pointer speed...

So, you're saying that when you go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Mouse, you have no access to any options because your mouse is "not detected"? Did any software/drivers come with the mouse(like on a CD)? Can you configure any of the buttons on the mouse to change sensitivity?

Let me know if I'm misunderstanding something. In the mean-time I'll try to think of some solutions.

Best of luck!

I do see my mouse under devices but under personalization>mouse pointers>Microsoft keyboard and mouse centers it does not detect my device, also if I take my mouses receiver out and back in while the laptop is on it crashes from kernel security check failure if that helps and I did not have a CD, I received this mouse from a friend and as of right now it is my only mouse suitable for my gaming style except for the freakishly high DPI

Yeah after i did a bit more research i had mistaken dpi for sensitivity :( sorry about that but my sensitivity in game with the lowest sensitivity limit is still very high and idk why. When i change the motion speed under personalization the mouse cursor is slower in the game on menus and any time where u can see it but when im playing in an actual match the sensitivity is still super high and doesnt change. So know i just wanna know if theres a tweak or something or a setting where i can change this.

You weren't wrong, you can change dpi to lower sensitivity, so it still makes sense. And it's a shame lowering speed in the control panel only affects sensitivity in menus and outside of the game.

So you have the sensitivity in game set to lowest. What is the game? Is there a .cfg file you could edit to force the sensitivity lower?

I also tried looking for drivers for your mouse and couldn't find anything. Sometimes they will come with software that acts as a separate control panel. So keep an eye out for something like that.

Just some ideas.
