Hey all thanks for stopping by....I got a Dell 530 that was given to me the other day and wanted to upgrade the CPU....Does anyone know what I can upgrade it to?

In which case, you might as well build a separate PC using more up to date hardware.

The Inspiron 530 series uses Intel Core 2 (and their Pentium and Celeron derivatives) processors, so you may be able to get a quad-core processor in it. However, the cooling system may not handle it, so that could be a potential problem.
