I am currently in the process of upgrading my gaming rig to handle some of the newer games coming out. My question is, would it be worth it to water cool my cpu? I am running an AMD Phenom X4 965 @ 4.2Ghz and it is running ~45c under load on a CM Hyper 212 Evo. If i were to upgrade, i was looking at the Corsair H80i. The reason I ask this is because eliminating this from my list would save me quite a bit of money, enough to invest in an SSD as my HDD's are both 7200rpm.

If the cooling upgrade is only slight, than it wouldn't be worth it for me as i would rather OC than upgrade my cpu(which is still fairly new).

Thanks in advance!

The H80 is fairly close to the EVO. I would get the SSD, and then get the h100 or similar later. It is simply not that big of a jump, maybe you could hit 4.5 but it would probably only be 4.3-4.4 at most.
This coming from a 965 user @ 4.1 with EVO.
