Hello,

I just purchased a GTX 650 ti (2GB GDDR5 edition), and am not seeing the results I thought I would out of it. I was wondering if possibly my other hardware being a bit older would result in this. Here's the specs:

GPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 Yorkfield 2.5GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80580Q8300

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: 2.50 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Mem: 8GB DDR2 G.Skill 1066 (PC2 8500)

(Power supply is 850w, plenty for what I have).

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if I have to just upgrade my whole rig, or if the graphics card I got just isn't all that great.

Thanks!

Solution
You really need to specify how the card is performing.

A 650ti isn't exactly a powerful card. If you're trying to play games like BF4 in 1080P, you're going to have to lower the detail.

Hey there,

Thank you all for your responses. I guess I expected more than what I had gotten. I am getting around 30FPS in BF3 on all high settings. Is there a card that's in the $200 - $300 range where I will be able to play many of the newer games on higher settings and still stick near 60fps? Sorry, been awhile since I've been in the PC gaming scene and want to make sure I get a good card.

Thank you all for your responses!

What if I went with a gtx 770? I read those performed pretty well. Would my current hardware bottleneck the new card though?
