Will the PSU be enough for everything or is it overkill? I'm really trying to cut the fat and maybe lower the price a bit bc I'm not sure how well Black Friday/Cyber Monday will cut prices, this is my first rodeo in terms of shopping on those days. I'll be overclocking the CPU once I can get my hands on a H100i (or H80i, not sure yet...) so taking that into consideration, the PSU will be taxed even more. Initially a Corsair GS700 was recommended for this build but this PSU seems better, right? This is my first build as well so any tips, advice ,or otherwise are much appreciated

Well, the GTX 770 itself uses over 200W at full load, add on an overclocked 3570k and 650W is probably about as low you wanna go. If you want some headroom, think 700-750W.

Yeah 750W is overkill (but that's a good PSU, from what I've read, plus an excellent warranty), but it's not like that will hurt you; if you really like that PSU, go for it. (For that build, even a 650W would still give you some headroom for upgrades in the future. Here's an Antec unit, 80 Plus Platinum, 650W, for $70 right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-TechBargains&cm_mmc=AFC-TechBargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16817371056)

Also, if you want to cut costs, have you seen this deal on MSI Z77A? Normally like $120 now like $60: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 (MSI boards can be crappy on the QA side, but at that price, I'd consider risking it)

And you really don't need a liquid cooler to overclock. A decent air cooler (CM Hyper 212 EVO, or similar) will do the trick just fine.

Cheers

Yes actually I had the Z77A-G45 in my cart initially and was really glad for the discount but then I had to switch because It wasn't DisplayPort compatible

You're running a separate graphics card...so the onboard connections don't matter, they'll be disabled once you install the graphics card.

I would agree on the cooler I had two Corsair H100i pumps go out within a month of each other. The first one the LED lighting went out and then about a week later the pump died. A couple weeks later the pump went out in the other one.

Your motherboard already has a Ethernet port onboard so do you really need to add another one for $30 more dollars?

If you really want to water cool your system I would recommend going for a full water cooling loop. But as said above a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO would work very well and cost less.

As for cutting the fat you could get a good case for about $100 cutting another $60 or so from your cost. But I know that things like case's are personal and if that case is what you really want get it since it is the house for your parts it is what you are going to be looking at from day to day so it is just a thought.

Oh my fault, it seems I was half-asleep while searching for a WIRELESS network adapter haha.. I'll replace that in a few. A custom liquid cooling setup would require too much maintenance, but I'll definitely pick up a fan for the CPU.
In regards to the PSU, should I only be on the lookout for 650W or do the certifications, cables included, rails, etc really make that much of a difference?

80 Plus certifications are fine, but I wouldn't pay a bunch extra just for a higher level...it's an energy efficiency rating, and if you pay $50 extra for 80 Plus Gold or something, it's going to take years to pay off that extra, since the energy you're saving will be maybe a few cents every month.

Modular or semi-modular power supplies are nice, since they make cable management a breeze (all/most of the cables come separate from the unit itself, and you only use what you need).

You want a single 12v rail, other than that, if you're buying a good name in PSUs, you shouldn't have any issues.

ACTechy how much headroom would a 650W give for that particular build? Would a 550W be too low or cutting it too close? Again, I'll be OCing the CPU and RAM. Thanks!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151121 Adding on a CM Hyper 212 Evo and trying to invest in a PSU with wiggle room for future upgrades, is that PSU a viable option still? Considering its quality and brand and price, it's so hard to pass it by...
