I'm going to be building a new computer, and intend on grabbing 32GB of ram for it. I'll be allocating up to 24 GB of it for a ramdisk usage varying from high disk usage games to heavy video and photo editing.

I've seen reviews go both ways some day you get faster transfer rates on higher frequency 2k+ with looser timing 11-13-11-31, opposed to lower frequency 1600 at tighter timings 7-7-7-21 (just examples) there is a mid ground of 1866 with something like 9-10-9-27 ( again just off the top of my head numbers) Please don't say there won't be any notable difference. Because I know there's GB/s of performance difference... just some reviews say one way and some say the other.

Please stay on the topic. My build is sound, it's just down to 1600 or higher. I know lower tighter timing will be more beneficial to gaming where as higher looser timings are more beneficial for editing. However I'm talking about pure throughput for a RAM-disk.
