Help me choose an SLI setup?

Trying to decide what type of SLI setup I want to get. I currently own a GTX 770 2GB so was figuring I'd just get another. Then I thought about the VRAM, some games have started going over 2GB, and pretty sure that would bottleneck 770 2GB SLI pretty badly. So I'm going to choose between these three setups, 2GB GTX 770s in SLI, 4GB 760s in SLI, or the ASUS ROG MARS 760, I'm not quite sure about the price of the MARS in Canada, or whether it's 2GB of VRAM or what. Thanks for your help! ( ASUS ROG MARS NOW OUT OF THE QUESTION. 1K? RIDICULOUS!)

RICKY! Where's your chicken fingers? heheheheh

Ok, jokes aside, you have one of two choices here that won't be stupid. One choice is to get another GTX 770 and SLI them. If you're going to completely change cards it would be nuts to get an nVidia card the way things are priced right now. You mentioned the GTX 760 4GB, well, if you're only gaming with one monitor, 4GB is a waste of time and money. You're talking at least $315 on newegg.ca for each card. The Radeon HD 7970 has 3GB which is already way more than enough, even in crossfire (trust me...

Thanks for the help, I don't really want to start over with complete new cards because I'd be losing money, I could get another 2GB 770 in the next few days, or I could sell my 770 for less than the price of a GTX 760 4GB, and earn a bit more money. I just don't know whether or not I'll be able to max out next gen games with 2GB of VRAM, if it wasn't for the VRAM these 770s would be amazing...

Ok, well looks like I'm going to be sticking with 770s most likely, I might go for a reference model as a second one to go with my Gigabyte WF3. Still open to other answers though.

The Radeon HD 7970 has 3GB which is already way more than enough, even in crossfire (trust me, it's what I'm running), one would cost $290 after rebate from NCIX and the second would cost $320 (assuming you bought them together) making them $305 each. So although only $10 less expensive than the GTX 760 4GB, they beat the tar out of those cards, 4GB or not. Keep in mind that these are XFX Double-D's so they carry XFX's double-lifetime warranty. As for crossfire stability, take it from me, it's perfect. I'm running two HD 7970s in crossfire as I type this and I couldn't be happier. Here's the performance difference you can expect:

Quote from [H]ardOCP:
"The Radeon R9 280X was very playable at these settings and stayed ahead of all of the other mid-range cards that we evaluated. The other three cards were not playable at these settings. Although the GeForce GTX 760 turned in higher frame rate than the GeForce GTX 770, we believe this is due to the run through for the GTX 770 having significantly more explosions and tank action present during the data recording."

And what exactly is an R9-280X? Why, it's nothing more than a re-branded HD 7970! The only sane way to keep using nVidia right now is to just get another GTX 770 and SLI them. That's really all there is to it. Your GTX 770s would be more powerful than those GTX 760s anyway. Remember, it is said that the bare minimum for BF4 is 2GB, having an extra 1GB is 50% more than minimum. That's far and above what you actually need so paying extra for another GB on top of that and sacrificing performance in the process is just.... well it's what Ricky would probably do and we know just how bright the boys are don't we? LOL

Haha! I'm surprised, you're the first person who actually mentioned that. Man I love the boys, and the fact that there's gonna' be an 8th season as well!

Anyways I would probably have crossfired some of those 280x's, or some 7970s for that matter, but at the time I completely forgot about VRAM and thought 2GB would be fine, but alas I was wrong... I guess I could still get 2 280x's, it's just that the resale value on my 770 is gonna' suck because all of the low-balling idiots on Craigs List. Is it really worth going 280x's over the, SLi'd 770s?

Going with another 770 would be the best idea giving you over a 690/2 680s in sli in performance.
