i have been trying to get my pc hooked up with a ethernet cord. but been having trouble. ever since i built my pc its been wireless. and i tried hooking it up with the cord go into windows to configure the router, etc still nothing. so i never tried it yet but my friend told me its because i have the software for my wireless device installed. I would try it but i lost the cd to the device, but will this even help or does anybody know if it will help? please let me know anything. thanks for looking.

if the network card is part of the mb look in the bios under onboard devices make sure the port is on. then go to the mb vendor web web page under drivers will be the network driver. install it and then check under device manager that it installed. then go to network devices make sure you did not disable the port in windows. if it not disabled when you plug the network cable in the ethernet port light should come on and be blinking. on the router make sure your not plugged into the wan port. there be four ethernet ports.
you should see that port blink to if it working.
