My brother bought two gigabyte r9 280x to put in crossfire. He is getting very poor performance from both a single card and in crossfire. He has an Msi fm2 motherboard with the amd a10 trinity processor and a corsair 850 watt power supply. We tried updating drivers and still very low framerates. My pc has two 7950 in crossfire and smokes his computer while running bf4. I do have an eight core processor over his 4 core trinity. I'm a total noob at pc building. Can someone help. What can we be doing wrong. Is his a10 trinity processor too slow. It's not maxing out on its usage when we monitor it. Could his power supply be bad? Whats the chances he has two bad cards. Gigabyte is a good brand isn't it? His pc is only a few months old. I've seen other people reporting great performance from these cards.

he has a 4 core trinity. there it is. sell one of his 280x cards and get him a proper cpu.
Oh, and make sure he is not using the built in gpu on the cpu, and actually using the 280x.

How do I make sure the inboard gpu is disabled because it doesn't show up in hardware manager and I've read that after installing the cards it should disable itself automatically.
