I recently bought this card, let me state my specs

Windows 8.1
8 core amd cpu at 4.0
asrock 890fx deluxe 5 mobo
corsair 750W psu
8gig ram

Anyway I installed this card, plugged the hdmi in, and the monitor just went to sleep instantly, I tried it in bay 1 and 2 and even tried dvi but no luck on anything, the psu pins im using are the 6+2 black and the regular 6, as it only requires a 8pin and 6pin connection I don't think this could be the problem?

Now its properly updated, the driver that is to support the card, and nothing is overclocked on my pc, anyone have aaaany idea what the problem could be?.... im returning the card to amazon in assumption that its DOA, if anyone has some last minute help information I would appreciate it sooo much as id rather just use the card I have, or if my pc cant even support it

ps I did try the different bios settings on the card switch itself and no luck on that also, but the fans on the card work fine

check that the eight pin power plug for the cpu/gpu on tight on the mb. check that your running the newest bios to rule out a bios bug.

Well, I can tell you (as someone who is currently running two of these things in crossfire) that if the card isn't working perfectly right away, take it back. My twin Gigabyte Windforce OC HD 7970s were perfect out of the box, are perfect now and have been perfect every day in between. The drivers I used made little difference. There's something wrong with your card.

well Im returning it I guess, but my main concern is it could possibly be my pc that isn't allowing it to run fine? I don't want to buy a different r9 280x and have it just poop out on me again because my pc cant handle it

also the pins from my psu are 6+2 black I have 4 extra lying around that are not in use, and I have "one" 8 pin, but that connector is for my mobo itself, the fans start on the card but maybe it isn't getting enough power or something?

edit* its a tx750w corsair psu, I cant seem to find any pics of it online, but its red/orange wording.. lol.. no help I know

the six plus two are the eight pins for the video card. there should be another six pin cable for the video card if it needs two cables.

Yes it has a 6 pin and a 8, I have them both plugged in because its receiving power, the screen just instantly turns into sleep mode because it isn't receiving a signal.... also I did try it on a different monitor thinking it may be my Mon for some reason, but alas... nothing
