Hello!

This is probably a stupid question but here goes anyway. I recently bought a new graphics card(ASUS R9 280X) which has 3GB GDDR5 SDRAM. But I noticed when I updated my beta profile settings for blizzard, that my video card memory is only 728mb. When I checked in "dxdiag" it says that is only 695mb. Obviously it is not that low, but can someone tell me the reason to why it doesnt say 3gb?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Well it's a new card. I've seen with newer cards that certain apps don't identify correctly. I would use MSI Afterburner to check your VRAM usage while playing a game like Crysis 3 or Battlefield 4 on ultra settings. See how much ram gets used. Maybe just try updating directX etc. But if games are running fine and your VRAM shows fine in MSI Afterburner then I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah I tried installing the latest driver, but it is still the same. However in the amd catalyst control center it says 3072mb, but it already did that before I updated the drivers.

After testing it with MSI afterburner the memory usage went up to about 1400mb while playing batman arkham origins with settings on ultra, so I guess it's fine. Thanks for the help.
