Hello, everyone!I'm new here and I would really like some advice on a rig I'm planning to build. Its a budget gaming rig with an AMD APU focus. After the APU becomes outdated,I'm planning to buy a graphics card(not now).I will overclock slightly the RAM and CPU.My budget is around rs.30000/$500.Here's the rig:
1.AMD A10 6800K APU
2.MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 Motherboard
3.Corsair Vengance/GSKILL RIPJAWS/GSKILL SNIPER/Transcend 4 GB RAM-1 stick
4.Corsair 450W PSU(80% efficiency)
5.Coolermaster 431 Plus(cabinet,not very important)
Any advice is very welcome.Thanks!

Crysis 3 is one of the most GPU demanding games on the market. You really need to get a high end GPU for higher resolution.

According to the link, at 1280x720 on Low Detail Med Texture, you can get an average of 63fps.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crysis-3-performance-benchmark-gaming,3451-4.html

I'm guessing if you increased it to medium, on your monitor, then you would be getting around 40fps. At this point it becomes more difficult but still playable.

If you are after playing Crysis 3 on higher settings...

Thanks!2133 RAM is expensive though......BTW,is the mobo good for overclocking(decent enough?)

Sorry to say. It's not good for overclocking. If you are on a budget and will not upgrade your system then a A10 + fast RAM is good choice. If you might, might, upgrade then I wouldn't suggest a A10 system.

Thanks!DDR3 1600 means normal slow ram right?Because when I checked online, there's no RAM higher than that and a 4gb stick was available for 4100 rupees($7-10).
I'm planning to use this rig for the moment so I can use the A10 and no graphics card. After the A10 can't run newer games,I'm planning to buy a graphics card. And why wouldn't you recommend the A10?If there are better alternatives, suggestions are welcome!

Since you will buy a graphics card DO NOT get a A10. The A10 is only good for those that don't want a discrete GPU. But since you plan on buying a GPU in the future then get a AMD Athlon II X4 or fx-4100. They are cheaper (money saved should go towards a good GPU) but the fx requires a discrete GPU to operate. The A10 on board GPU is like a 7750. So, if you get a Athlon or fx series cpu then you could pair it with a 7850 or whatever. Also, if you don't get the A10 then 1600 RAM is best.

I don't know about the pricing where you live, but the FX4300 and the FX6300(FX4100 not available) are priced very closely. So how about this:
FX6300+ASRock 960-GS FX socket mobo? And what would you advice for a graphics-card?HD6670 or something else?Again, thanks a lot for the help.

Yes I will upgrade when I have the money.I see your point. If you're going to keep this rig un-upgraded for long, get the A10 and if you intend to eventually buy a gpu, don't waste money on the apu and get something better.BTW,you like the R7 cards?Seems the 240 is crap. What's everyone's opinions?

From what I've read,R7 cards are just rebranded 7770s,7790s and7870s.Not worth buying at current price.
So,anyway is the HD7770 is good with the FX6300?Will it be better enough than the 7750?So the new configuration:
AMD FX6300
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard
Corsair DDR3 4 GB
Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

At stock, the i3-3220 will give you better fps than a fx-6300. The fx-6300 is only better when you can get a decent overclock. Otherwise, save money and get a more efficient i3 and less PSU.

650ti boost is a great GPU.

What resolution monitor are you gaming on?

What resolution is your monitor? This is extremely important in GPU selection.

It'll be 1366x768(720p).But there's no lie in telling I'll go for the highest my budget will afford. But I can say that(because I'll use the money leftover from the rest of the rig for it) it'll be 720p with accuracy.720p-assured.
BTW,I checked about ocing.Seems risky on a low-end mobo especially on a budget rig.So I'm going with stock speed and cooler.Same for RAM and GPU.

For a 720p monitor which is 1366x768, you don't need to spend more than a 7770 or 650ti. Those GPUs will max out settings on that screen.

As you said about low end mobo overclocking: 2 things.
1) If you live somewhere warm and on a tight budget then I'd get a i3 and forget about overclocking. This will save you money on PSU, mobo, and special cooler.
2) low end mobos can be good at overclocking. For instance, I have a i5 and I bought a low end mobo. (ASRock Z77 Pro3) It can overclock but it's in the bottom group for sure. However, I get a good overclock out of my i5-2500k. So, low end overclocking on Intel chipset is easy, but I can't comment on low end AMD chipset boards.

So 7770 can run stuff like Crysis 3 on higher than medium-settings on 720p?Sounds wicked! Thanks!
Yes,India in general is warm and Kerala is very humid as well. But I'm still having a lean towards amd because the psu will only change from 450 to 430 and the amd mobos are actually better from what I've seen and I'll have to pay more to get something similar for intel.Im ay still need an after-market cooler though. But the fact that the board is micr-ATX also means there less to cool in the first place right? So I'm thinking the 2 fans that come with the case+1 coolermaster sickleflow(blue) and probably a fan for the cpu as well.

If you are after playing Crysis 3 on higher settings then spend as much as you can on a GPU, try to get a 7850 if possible.

Also, since you want to play Crysis 3 then you should avoid dual cores. I think a fx-6300 is your best bet. Maybe in the future you could overclock it, who knows. But if you want Crysis 3 then you need quad core or more, and a decent GPU.
Check out the table on bottom of this link:
http://www.techspot.com/review/642-crysis-3-performance/page6.html

Lastly, cooling. I live in Taiwan so we get hot and humid, but probably not as much as I here you guys get in India. It's important to invest in good fans and more the merrier. The sickle flow is ok, but I'd check reviews. Most fans are really terrible.

Yes,I'm planning to play Crysis 3 and 2 and Metro:Last Light. But medium is enough for me :) So the configuration so far:
1.AMD FX 6300
2.Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard
3.Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard
4.Corsair XFS3 4GB DDR3 RAM
5.Asus DRW-24D3ST/BLK/G/AS DVD Burner Internal Optical Drive
6.Cooler Master Thunder 500W 500 Watts PSU(http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx)
7.Since the mobo is SATA 3.0GB/sec,I can't use anything with SATA 6.0GB/sec for the HDD right?
Almost done! Now I just need to find some good coolers.

looks alright. HDDs don't gain any performance from SATA 3.0 vs SATA 6.0, so don't let that affect you. The only place you can gain from SATA III 6.0GB/sec is with SSDs, but even there it isn't much. My meaning, don't worry about limitations due to that mobo.

Ok thank you very much! Then I'll buy a normal HDD and buy a SATA 3.0GB/sec cable since most HDDs only come with SATA 6.0GB/sec.And the coolers and case:Coolermaster Xtraflow and Deepcool GAMMA Archer along with an Antec V2 cabinet.
Again,thanks for your advice!
