CPU fN error message problem

A fan error came up saying service PC immediately cpu fan has failed. I reinstalled my thermal paste and bypassed the message by pressing F2 but my cpu fan still runs at 1000 rpm and is very loud. I still want my speed on auto not high or low like u can change it to in bios. I just want reset this. Thanks

Plug it to the one closest to the ram slots, because that actually is supposed to be the correct CPU fan socket and see if the problem still presists.

I had taked the heats sink off and then put it back on. Then when I turned in the PC the error message came up. I thought the problem was the thermal paste so I replaced and now the cooling is fine but the error message still shows up at startup and the fan still always runs at high speed even that the CPU is cool
