Im planning to get a CPU which is e6600 2.4ghz and my question is will i get descent fps playing Far cry 3 , Gta 4 , max payne , saints row 3 ? My current CPu is core 2 duo e4300 1.8ghz, i get 15-25 fps on gta 4 , 20-28 on far cry 3 , max payne3 15-25 , saints row3 15-25 (all specs on lowest). My GPU is radeon hd 7750 and im sure its bottlenecking my CPU , will e6600 solve this problem ?

I am sorry but the CPU lags so far behind....just the shear extra 600mhz means nothing, esspecially in a dual core. Not worth the upgrade for only 1-2fps more...

Upgrade for a Quad core, a Q model like Q6600 or Q9300 etc etc. check if the motherboard supports quad core to be on the safe side, that will improve your PC massively. Playing on high might even be a real prospect for you.

I ran a Q6600 with 2gb DDR2, Bioshock infinite on Ultra :D
