60hz vs 120hz for pc to tv films/series watching .

I apologize if this question has been asked before, and hope its in the right section , i am after a 1080 hdtv (39-42') to use as a basic monitor when in bed , but mainly to watch downloaded tv shows series, films ,etc etc of which 90% of time the tv will be used for and odd item i want to watch cable tv , now whats the best hz for that 60hz or 120hz .

if you want quality... you can get sony for just a hair more.

40" 1080p 60hz led should run you a bit over $400 at BB

if you have the space and a bit more cash they have a deal for the 50" version for only $500 at BB

perhaps you can find them cheaper elsewhere though (but they do pricematch if you do)

samsung is also another good brand.

honestly i would steer clear of olevia, emerson and all of the low end brands even if they are cheap. there is more chance of them breaking, even worse customer service and almost no parts availability. basically they are disposable.

budget? (60hz panels are cheaper)
do you intend to play games? (60hz panels work better for gaming)
does 60hz seem choppy to you? (some people have an issue with 60hz some dont. if you dont then going 120hz isnt a requirement)

i'm personally using a 60hz sony and i see nothing wrong with it. my next tv will be 60hz as well (unless i'm forced to go 120.....because of availability). my eyes dont see a huge difference between the two and in some cases the motionflow gives me a headache.
