I recently received a computer from someone at school, and was wondering if this is worth upgrading with more RAM and a better video card to play games on. It's a custom machine with a Pentium 4 3.2GHz, Intel DG945PSN motherboard, and 2GB RAM(4x512). Any info or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

I would say no, the processor is a really slow single core so any modern games will just be un-playable. RAM for a system that old will be expensive because it's no longer in production, and a video card will be held back by the CPU in that system, and being a pentium 4 it might require an AGP style graphics card that is no longer the standard.

I would advice you to save up and purchase/build a new system.
