I just got a new Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 and put it in my computer. When I try to start it up, the fans work but I don't get a POST beep. I'm wondering if it's a boot/bios problem (Can't find legacy boot mode), DOA GPU, or a power supply issue.

System:
MB: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 (rev. 1.2)
CPU: AMD FX-6300
RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws X (8GB)
PSU: Rosewill Hive 650W
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB

Thank you.

check your cables and make sure that your motherboard is set to output video to pci slot (x) what ever slot it is in. if you have another video card test it out. make sure all of your connections are in place to the motherboard and from the power supply.

Try pulling the card out, Booting up with integrated graphics, and installing your drivers for the New card. Reboot into the BIOS and disable onboard graphics. Shut down and install the new card and try again :p

Init Display is set as PEG. The only options there are PCI, PEG, PEG1.

My 7850 works as soon as I plug it in.

The only thing is I'm using one 6+2 pin and one molex adaptor to power the 7970. Would that make a difference if I used 2 6+2 instead of the molex? I can't seem to find my other 6+2.

Also, My MB and CPU don't have onboard graphics. :/
Thanks

that motherboard dose not have integrated graphics. it should default to pci slot. My guess is he missed a power cable or something.
