My pc specs are

Gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2p
Phenom I I x4 955
Radon hd 6870
750 watt Corsair

And my problem is some of my games have started crashing about 10 or 15 mins into playing and I know it's not a heat issue because I have hardware monitor running along side and my CPU never goes above 45c and my GPU never goes above 65c

These symptoms are often associated with a heat and/or power issue (hardware) or a driver issue (software).

Your temps are good and your PSU should be more than sufficient.

I would suggest you install the latest chipset and video drivers (in that order). Get them at the links below:

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-9_win7_win8_32-64_sb.exe (has both 32 and 64 bit drivers)

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-9_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_wh... (32-bit drivers)

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-9_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_wh... (64-bit drivers)

It could be your RAM that is faulty. (If you're overclocking try going back to stock speed)

Test by removing the RAM, so you only have one stick installed at a time, and see if the crashes still occurs. Test all the RAM sticks, and if the crashes go away with a one or more sticks then you have found the problem. (Don't forget to ground yourself when handling the RAM, or you could cause more damage)

There is also RAM testing programs you can try if you don't want to mess with the hardware. Google should find you something.

The best memory tester available (and free at that) is memtest86. Go here for it:

http://www.memtest.org/

Download the ISO and burn to CD. Then boot the system from the CD and the tests will run automatically. It will take some time.
