wanting to build

Hi Tom's.

I have been slowly convincing myself to build my own computer instead of going with a prebuilt system after reading all of your helpful reviews and insight towards builds and components. Thanks for that..

I am looking to spend ~2k on a gaming / picture studio build. I am very nervous about attempting to build this myself and was hoping to get some feedback on this parts configuration: potential build

Mainly I am concerned about compatibility, any fat that could be trimmed while still producing similar results, as well as whether cooling will be sufficient.

Right now I just have a 20" 1080 but I'm wanting to upgrade to a 27" or 30" and would like to play on the big screen tv when the wife is out for a girls night.

(I play games like SC2, BF4, WoW, and LoL and my wife takes thousands (yes) of pictures and edits them for family and friends)

Thanks so much in advance for any advice.

awesome, that save me $200...

low profile = smaller ?

other than that...everything else looks ok? if so, i will begin ordering parts today! ...and that should be everything i need to build a computer? i am paranoid and feel like something is missing or i am doing it wrong

Well for gaming personally I would not purchase the i7 or 16GB of RAM. It does nothing to build performance. I would go with the i5-4670K and 8GB of RAM, then invest the difference in upgrading to a GTX 780 TI:

you have everything you need just check to see if people have issues with your case height and trying to reach the eight pin eps power plug that on the top of the mb.
http://www.corsair.com/pc-cases/obsidian-series-pc-case/obsidian-series-650d.html
if the cable not long it wont reach if you try and run it up the back side of the mb tray. some people use this extender cable to fix the issues.

I like that case a lot gunit, thanks, and thanks for all of your help too smorizio. wish me luck guys! i am going to start ordering parts now and can only imagine that in 2 weeks time frame that i'll be starting an OMG PLZ HELP thread..

i guess the only other question would be -- should i order today or wait a week until "black friday?"

think they'll actually have some deals worth waiting for?

edit: spellcheck

the 199 cpu deal too good to wait. look at the parts in parts picker see if any are ending. the power supply i linked been onsale at that price point for awhile. only other part you want pick up is black tye wraps. pick up some that are 4/8 inches in length.
