Hello Tom's Hardware forums and thank you. I appreciate any time put into helping me figure out a decent gaming build for around $1000. I have no time limit at this point due to black Friday/cyber Monday coming up, but I wanted to get some quality assistance as for what to look for.

Approximate Purchase Date: After Cyber Monday sometime

Budget Range: $1k after rebates and such, could handle $1100

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, gaming, surfing, more gaming

Are you buying a monitor: No
I already have an HP 23xi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176424

Parts to Upgrade: Not Applicable, I want everything new

Do you need to buy OS: Yes
I already plan on buying Windows 7 64-bit OEM so this can be included in the build

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, the usual, nothing south side Chicago-ey

Location: Central Wisconsin, USA

Parts Preferences: I've always had Intel CPU's so I lean that way, more interested in quality as I would like this build to last a few years.

Overclocking: Maybe, though I highly doubt I would, and I am not interested in liquid cooling.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, I would at least like the capability to if needed

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, this monitor auto-adjusts

Additional Comments: I am not interested in bling! I do not need lights or other bells and whistles, in fact I have already picked out a case I would like to use:

Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey Silent ATX Mid Tower Case

Or if I absolutely HAD TO I would get his big brother the XL:

I would prefer a quality SSD around 120-180 GB

So I should mention the games I enjoy and I would love to pay these on high+ graphics: SimCity, Civ V BNW, BF4, Diablo 3, and possibly Elder Scrolls online.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: the Best Buy special I have plugging along just cant handle the games anymore. I have to change every graphics setting to low or off and even then its slow, choppy and if I didn't have great patience I would have thrown this box off the balcony already.

Thank you for the comments! I appreciate the thought you guys put into putting together some systems to look into. I do have a couple of questions though...

First would be the CPU Cooler. Since I am not interested in overclocking (because I want to get the maximum life out of this build), I am wondering if I even need an additional/replacement CPU cooler. From what I have read about them, most CPU Coolers that come with the CPU seem to do just fine w/o overclocking. Or perhaps I could invest in a CPU Cooler say, 3-4 years from now, after the initial efficiency of the original fan diminishes? It just seems like overkill and a waste of money, at least initially.

Second would be Storage. I do not have anything on my current HD that can't be erased and replaced or even lost(saved games lol). So I am really only interested in the SSD's at this point.

And finally Optical Drive. I replaced the one in my Best Buy special years ago, so I can continue to use that one.

Thank you again for your comments! Keep them coming because I would like to buy something around cyber Monday lol!
