Compatibility Pci-express 2.1 video card on pci-e 1 slot

Hi, i have an Acer Aspire t180 with em61sm/em61pm motherboard, i don't know if the pci slot is 1.0 or 1.1 .. i have to buy a new graphic card until i'll buy a new laptop.. I'd like to buy ATI Radeon HD5450 but it's pci-e 2.1 will it work on my pc? Thanks! :)

There are/were some compatibility issues between PCI-E 2.1 cards and PCI-E 1.0 graphic card slots. You can check your motherboard manufacturer to see if a BIOS update is available. If one is available, check to see if it resolves the compatibility issue. Otherwise, I'd probably look to going with either a PCI-E 2.0/3.0 graphics card.
