While recovering my toshiba x770 with the factory recovery disks during the setup installation it continues to stall while configuring. Always at the Realtek LAN driver load. I want to use a system image from a different laptop i had previous. Will this create problems with my hardware?

Windows usually won't run when it's moved to a system which has a different motherboard. Moreover, trying to run a factory pre-installed OEM copy of Windows on another PC is illegal. The pre-installed OEM copy is tied to the laptop it was supplied with. When that laptop dies, the OS dies with it.

Some backup and restore software have feature "Recover system to dissimilar hardware", which can restore system image from a different laptop to new hardware.

I remember Farstone, Acronis, Easeus backup have this feature.

Please try them.
