Looking to do some upgrades.

So, I currently am running a system with these specs:

AMD FX-6200
Asus M5A88-M Motherboard
AMD Sapphire Radeon HD 6850
Hitachi deskstar 1tb hdd
8gb corsair venegance RAM
And that's all I think really matters...

So, first thing was that I was looking into a new processor or video card. I wouldn't want to spend $100 on a new motherboard (for an intel product) unless there was a MAJOR performance advantage for a reasonably priced processor (<$200)

I was looking into the FX-8350 and/or a radeon 7870.

I was also looking into a Sandisk ReadyCache, and a hyper 212 evo so I could overclock, so I'd love to hear opinions on those.

Thanks!

I personally would grab that graphics card first, that's a great deal on that card. Your going to notice a huge difference in speed with the readycache so maybe make that priority.
Let me know how it performs when your done and if u have anymore questions feel free to ask!

Both the CPU and GPU you selected would be great upgrades. You'd be better off upgrading the CPU first seeming this GPU is still good for general usage and games.
The SanDisk ReadyCache is a good way to have quick bootup times and quicker program loading but they only do 32GB models which is barely anything talking SSDs. The Hyper 212 EVO does great in overclocking providing you have a high-end fan or 2 normal fans.

Would there be a noticeable difference (worth $200) with upgrading the CPU?

Do you think the processor would bottleneck with the card (idk much about bottle necking). What is the difference between the hyper 212 evo and 212 plus?

There's also a seagate drive I was looking at, 3tb for $130. My current hard drive is and has been making a crunching noise whenever loading/searching/downloading/uploading data. Would this be a good upgrade as well (and go with a new HDD instead of processor) or do you think dropping no more than 200 is good? Should I get the readycache as well?

Don't get a Seagate HDD. It's a 50/50 gamble between getting a good one from Samsungs old factories and getting a crap one from Seagate. You'd be better getting a Western Digital HDD.

There is little to no difference between the 212 Hyper and the 212 plus.

Same can be said for WD. This discussion has been argued all over the web. Its a crap shoot. I gebnerally take the one that meets what I need and takes less money out of my pocket bc in the end I think they are equal.

If your HD is crunching I don't think you really need me to tell u that u should replace it before replacing the processor!
If you overclock that 6300 with a after market cooler you will have the same performance as a 8320. Look up some benchmarks online. It don't make much sense to spend cash on a 8320 when u have a 6300, a hard drive that sounds like its failing and a lower end video card.

I don't believe the hard drive is failing. Fitness tests are fine but given that, it's just really annoying to listen to. As for WD v Seagate, from what I understand all HDD's are kind of a gamble. I'd love to pay $130 to triple my max storage, too.

As for the CPU, that has been crossed off the upgrades list. The question now stands what to get first? I'm in no rush for a new HDD because I don't see it failing before the time I (should have) completed everything in a few months. Granted, I'd rather get all the data restoration crap done sooner than later. Right now my list is:

Seagate 3tb
IceQ AMD radeon 7870
Readycache (would love faster boot up times)
Cooler master hyper 212 evo

I think this adds up into roughly $340.
