Best Manufacturer for the 280X?

Putting together a build the last couple of days, and I've hit a bit of a snag. I love the look of the 280X, seems like a great value, but I'm a little concerned about which 280X to go with. The Windforce is the one I'm leaning towards, but is it true that it has serious noise and overheating issues? There are a lot of other options at comparable price, should I go with one of these? Maybe something else?

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100363... (Though I can't seem to find a core clock speed)
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9280xgamin... (Slightly more expensive)
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-r9280xdc2t... (Slightly more expensive)

Thanks in advance for any replies!

EDIT: Oops! Sorry for the broken links, should be fine now.

Also forgot the Windforce link: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr928...

I like the Asus, it has a faster memory clock speed and all the reviews say its much quieter. But I've seen some conflicting info on the core clock speed, the Windforce is faster in that regard, correct? Do you think the performance and reduced noise are worth an extra $10?

Depending on your case and ambient noise (music, games, etc.) the noise isn't necessarily a big deal. Any one of the 280Xs can be overclocked, and post-OC they'll all be within a few % performance of each other.
Personally, I think it's worth the $10 to get the Asus.

I think its worth it for the asus for its noise levels alone.
The asus has a 1070MHz clockspeed and the Gigabyte windforce has a 1000Mhz clock with a 1100Mhz boost clock. You could easily OC the asus up to 1100MHz.

I was leaning toward the Sapphire, only problem is I can't seem to find most of its specs, reviews, or model. I know its not the Toxic or the Vapor, but there's a couple other Sapphire models, some with much worse specs than others.

Can anyone shed some like on which Sapphire this is exactly, and where I can find its specs?

This one is the vapor.

Oh, so the Asus 1070MHz is its base speed? I assumed it just came factory OCed like the Windforce.

The noise is a big factor, and certainly worth a couple bucks. I think I'll likely get the Asus, unless someone can fill me in on what the Sapphire model is exactly.

The sapphire on the link you posted is the slowest sapphire 280x. The Asus is quite a bit quieter than the sapphire 280x cards.

The sapphire in your link is 1020Mhz, has 6000 memory speed, and costs 299. The asus is 1070Mhz, 6400 memory speed, and costs 309. The sapphire vapor x (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) has a speed of 1070Mhz, 6200 memory, and costs 319 and is louder than the asus.

If that's the case, I'll go with the Asus. Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it.

nikoli707 doesn't know what he is talking about, there isn't a MSI lightning 280x.

I know you selected the best answer, but in case you were still wondering: the Sapphire card you linked is the Dual-X model. Sapphire has 3 custom coolers: Dual-X, Vapor-X, and Toxic -- in order of least performance and cooling to most performance and cooling.

msi made the 7970 lightning like a year ago and after ln2 it held the world record for a single gpu card up until the titan came out. msi almost always gets first choice at the best asics cards for their lightning models.

dont call people out if you dont know what your talking about 16bit... do some research first before you talk nonsense. everybody knows the lighting held the world record... why you didnt is your fault.

Edit:
I should not have called you out. But to be technical, this is about 280x's not 7970's. The 280x is a rebranded 7970 GHz but this thread is about 280x's and there is not a lighting 280x. It was specifically asked what is the best manufacture of 280x's not the best 7970 GHz. I understand that they are almost identical, but I am 100% right to say there is not a lightning 280x.

I have come to the conclusion that dragonborn123 does not want to spend $600+ on a graphics card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3KX....
And I quote " Do you think the performance and reduced noise are worth an extra $10?" dragonborn123. If someone is worried about $10 they are not going to want to spend $640 on a lighting, $330 more than the asus. You don't have to be a math wiz to see that $330 is more than double $309. And all you get is 80MHz and slower memory. Bottom line not worth it unless you are going to use LN2 and OC.

I have done plenty of research on 280x's.

gotcha... best can mean many things like best warranty.. best performance... best cooling. it seems to me any of the models the op listed should do him quite well. as long as there is no weird fan noise and they stay relatively quiet... they should all overclock generally evenly.... somewhere close to 1.2ghz. whichever is cheapest or comes with a free game is probably best.
