Frequent Blue Screens before and after replacing RAM

Oh boy guys, I broke something.

I have an Alienware M14X R1 that is about 1.5 years old. This past Sunday, I got a blue screen. It said something about memory blah blah. So I realized that I had an old Memtest86+ disk laying around. Put it in, and 130 errors later, I am on the phone with Dell. Because my warranty was expired, they wouldn't sell me anything without paying A LOT.

I reran the Memtest and got the model number for the RAM. I make note of the specs and buy this and installed it. Cool! Everything works great.

Fast forward to about an hour ago. A friend of mine asks me to play TF2. I attempt to launch TF2 and it wouldn't launch. Task manager says that it was only using a few Kb(K) of memory. Ok. Run AlienAutopsy and test the RAM. Less than 3 minutes go by and I the computer just locks up. Alright.

Start the computer back up and launch TF2 again. 15 minutes in and I BSOD.

"0x000003b" error code. S**t.

Okay. Okay. I start my computer back up and I come directly to here, to the people that I trust and have more experience than me. Sorry if this isn't making much sense, but I am in a real panic.

Also, task manager says CPU usage is at 100%. That is a lie. It is also worth nothing that I went into event viewer and found this:

"The speed of processor 2 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 22 seconds since the last report."

If you need any more information, please ask. I need this laptop for school this week.

Thank you all in advance :)

Edit: CPU temps are at 77-95C.

Ok. I JUST got a blue screen with the stop code: 0x000000C4

I looked up that error and it appears to be something with my drivers. I am updating them now.

P.S. The temps were normal when I crashed.

There should be a setting in your BIOS that shuts down the computer whenever the CPU temp gets above a certain level. Set it to something lower. You could probably look up the specs for the processor to find out what the maximum safe temp. is. Like the other poster said, your temp was way too hot. Could have damaged the CPU. Try running SuperPi, ZPrime or some other stress test software and monitor the temp while the CPU is under full load.

Just ran a stress test. Max CPU temperature was 98C, while the minimum value was 63C. GPU stayed at a steady 49C. Hard drive stayed at 44C. After the stress test, CPU temps are at 55-60C.

I am using an external cooling pad and room temperature is at 75F with 29% humidity (which is kind of low for my preferences).

I did some research and it is clear that the Alienware M14x R1 has always had some heating issues.

Edit: All of the fans externally and the one fan in the system are all working. The repaste went smooth with no issues (other than I have an extra screw because one got stuck; the one that holds the front part together).

Another blue screen with the same stop error code as above. All my drivers are updated. No minidump file was created (for some reason, even though it has created one for every other blue screen).

So I did the next best thing and found one from a few days ago.

Temps were at 65C-67C when I crashed. I was basically idle.

Does anybody have any idea?

Edit 1: Just got another blue screen regarding something with my hard drive. Everything is breaking..

Today I got 6 bsods. Posting from my phone. Doing a memory test now. Pass 1 is 31% complete and no errors. I am thinking of getting a new PC, it isn't worth the headache.

Oh wait.. I lied. Test 5 pass 0 l, one error. Failing adress 0009ce26018. Cpu value is at 7. What does that mean?

Edit: 72 memory errors and counting.

Edit 2: After a while of testing, and 3067 errors later, I thought it would be a good idea to rerun the test. I rebooted and ran in failsafe mode (in Memtest86+) and after 10 minutes, came up with no errors! Great! So I reboot and switch to regular mode, and no errors so far! What the bloody *%@#! I will be doing a lot more testing tomorrow. Cheers!
