Okay, so I would just like to get out of the way that im currently on a 15" Compaq flat panel. Which is about 10 years old at least. So im am in dire need of a new monitor. So keep in mind, mostly ANYTHING is an upgrade for me, and I am in no need of something CRAZY. :p ..

I do game, so I dont want something shitty either. I was gonna get a monitor a week or two ago, and decided to wait till blackfriday/cyber monday deals, figuring i'd save some money. So that being said..What is a good monitor for around 160$? And by around I mean give or take maybe 10$. I've found a couple.. I just dont know what to look for really.. I know to get nothing higher then 5ms, along with 1080p resolution and a higher contrast ratio. But I also know there is more to it then that. So what im gonna do is link a couple monitors i've been looking at, and if anyone can tell me if they are decent for the price, just let me know.

Also, like I said, I am waiting for cybermonday.. do you guys think this is a good idea? Some of my friends have said cyber monday deals arent all that great.. but the way I look at it is.. if I was gonna spend 160$ on something thats no on sale, I can get something that IS on sale for that same price but maybe something better. So let me know guys! Help is appreciated :).. Here are a couple monitors ive been looking at.

Monitor #1
^$160 after instant savings

Monitor #2

P.S.
Please dont link anything above my price range.. it really annoys me when people are like.. "Well if you spend 30 more bucks, you can get this!.." its like I know if I spend more I can get better, thats obvious lol .. and im looking at 24 inches if possible..

Ips monitors are way better then Tn panel .... but if your looking a monitor for FPS gaming then u should go with the TN panel, coz the rafresh rate with 144ghz fps gaming is good , i suggest you this monitor for TN panel - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313
its best for FPS gaming gives 144 refresh rate best in market.

I don't know much about monitors, either.
So far I know that there are usually 2 kinds of monitors: a monitor used TN panel and the other one with IPS panel.

Briefly, TN panel monitors are CHEAPER, FASTER RESPONSE.
On the other hand, IPS ones are more expensive and slower, but MUCH more colorful.

If your budget is around $160, I would recommend you to look at 23" IPS monitors. (That's what I'm looking at as well)
Right now, I believe ASUS IPS monitors are on sale with some rebates... Take a look.
