I am looking for a new GPU for my desktop to play all modern day games such as Skyrim, BF4, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, GTA V, ect. and also play upcoming games. I have a FX-6300 processor and 8 gb of 1600 ram. My screen resolution is 1366x768 (I use my 32 inch LCD TV with an HDMI cable as my monitor) So what is my best choice for a GPU that can play these modern games on mostly high settings with a good amount of FPS? I really don't want to spend a lot though, i think I max out at about $250. Thanks!

Playing at 720p (768 technically) doesn't take as much power as 1080p which is fortunate for you. You would do well with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127737&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

That video card would do well at 1080p actually. I think you'll want to consider getting an actual computer monitor that has a native 1920 x 1080 resolution, and that card would do well.

If you are just wanting to game at 720 though, save the money and buy http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-ax78702gbd52dhppv3e . It'll give you high - ultra graphics levels at that resolution and save you money.

No, that one shows as being in stock. I think you are thinking of the cheaper 7870XT as being out of stock.

:edit: No, I was thinking of the 171 dollar 7950, that has been out of stock for a while. However, it does show the 7870xt being instock at NCIX for 229 - 20 dollars instant, and 20 dollars MiR.
