So I was messing around with my rig and left the components out on my floor. Stepped on my internal hard drive (yes I know, I'm an idiot for that) and it broke and I just got around to buying a new one today. I installed windows 7 from a usb boot disk with the new drive, installed my mobo drivers and tried downloading and installing my GPU drivers (Asus Geforce GTX 680). Everything worked fine until I tried installing the GPU drivers when I was given an error message along the lines of "Hardware not found". Checked my device manager and the video card is not recognised (only the integrated VGA adaptors is shown). Any help would be great. I tried looking for similar situations before posting this but got really confused as I rarely delve into computer hardware related things.

Check your BIOS and make sure you are choosing to use the PCIe Graphics and not the on-board graphics. Also check to make sure you didn't overlook connecting the 6 pin connectors on the end of the video card.

Thanks for your reply, avjguy2362. I configured the BIOS to PCI express, still no luck. Also, it's not to do with the 6-pin connectors being in as the only physical modification from the last time my pc was working was changing the internal hard drive. I have not moved anything else. I should also mention that viodeo is working through a dvi cable via the dvi output on the GPU
